About the competition. In 2017 Landfall celebrated its 70th birthday. To mark the occasion, we launched the Charles Brasch Young Writers' Essay Competition, an annual award open to writers aged 16 to 21. Essays should not exceed 1500 words. The competition is judged by the editor of Landfall.
